Dewberry Employees Receive ISI Envision Certification

ISI Envision guides developers of infrastructure projects toward higher levels of sustainability

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that six employees have recently received the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) Envision certification. Based in offices nationwide, these employees specialize in a variety of industries.

The certified employees are:

  • David Boeing, Leesburg, Va., site/civil
  • Jim Heeren, Parsippany, N.J., environmental
  • Jean Huang, Fairfax, Va., water resources
  • Julie Koehler, Denver, Colo., water/wastewater
  • Jeffrey Miller, Raleigh, N.C., MEP
  • Daniel Wilkinson, Raleigh, N.C., water/wastewater

“I’m excited about the framework that Envision provides to promote sustainable planning and design, particularly as is relates to water resources projects. I hope many projects we will be positively affected and will obtain higher achievement levels,” said Huang.

“As more jurisdictions become aware of the certification, the more important the certification will become to the civil engineering industry, among others. While some private clients have a more sensitive outlook on reduction of carbon footprint utilized by a particular project, municipalities and corporate clients for the immediate future will be the driving force of this certification, becoming more important in the development of infrastructure projects,” said Boeing.

ISI Envision is a new rating system created to guide developers of infrastructure projects toward higher levels of sustainability. Individuals are able to participate in training and credentialing programs to ensure successful usage of the program. Dewberry is a charter member of ISI.
