Pennsylvania Water Plant Wins Safety Award

Leading up to the award, the plant worked 1,429 days without a lost time accident

Oerated and maintained by Severn Trent Services, the Downingtown, Pa., Regional Water Pollution Control Center (DRWPCC) was presented with the 2013 Plant Safety Award, Class II (nine or more employees) from the Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operators Assn. (EPWPCOA) on Nov. 15 2013.

The award was presented to the Downingtown facility following an audit of its safety program by members of the EPWPCOA safety committee. The audit included documentation of training, compliance with OSHA regulations and lost time accidents. Leading up to the award, the DRWPCC worked 1,429 days without a lost time accident.

The DRWPCC is a 7.5-million gpd tertiary wastewater system that serves residents in the Borough of Downingtown and neighboring townships. Severn Trent Services has operated and maintained the facility since 1999.
