Day One at the The International Water Efficiency Conference saw Keynote Speaker, Mark R. Norton, stress the need for integrated water resources in regional water planning.
Mr Norton, P.E., is with the Water Resources & Planning Manager Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA).
His agency’s most recent accomplishment is the Santa Ana Watershed “One Water One Watershed” Integrated Regional Water Management Draft Plan which is setting a new milestone for collaborative “bottom up” regional water management planning by integrating standard water resource management strategies with water use efficiency, land use, environmental justice, and climate change adaptation.
It is time, he said, for us all to make adjustments.
Mr. Norton’s background includes 30 years of engineering experience in a broad range of civil engineering projects. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado and a Masters of public administration degree from Brigham Young University.
