Nilex Inc. has acquired Salt Lake City, Utah-based geosynthetics distributor GeoDynamics. With this deal, Nilex, an Executive Council member of the Geosynthetics Materials Assn., gains a foothold in the Utah, Idaho and Nevada markets. The company already has U.S. operations in Denver, which serves Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming and Montana.
"This transaction provides GeoDynamics the opportunity to offer a larger suite of solutions to its customers while strengthening its presence in the region,” said Ian Wilson, president and CEO of Nilex Inc. “GeoDynamics has a great reputation for delivering high quality products and services. Now with Nilex’s in-house technical support and proven operational processes we believe we will bring even more value to current and future customers."
GeoDynamics was founded in 2002 by the late Kevin Kent and his wife, Judy. The company became a supplier in Utah and surrounding states, working with manufacturers such as North American Green, Mirafi, Profile Products and, more recently, Tensar.
"Our family is extremely pleased to have aligned with a company like Nilex,” said Judy Kent, co-founder of GeoDynamics. “We feel confident that Nilex shares many of the values our company was founded on and will carry on the legacy we have built over the years."
The company will continue operations at its current location in Salt Lake City and will continue to be known as GeoDynamics (by Nilex) for the foreseeable future.
