There has been a fair amount of research on the use of chemical treatments to enhance erosion control and to help reduce turbidity in construction site runoff. Richard McLaughlin, a professor of Crop and Soil Sciences at North Carolina State University has studied various chemical treatment approaches in practice, and discusses his findings.
