2025 Top Projects highlight complexity of stormwater management

It is hard to believe it is already time for our 2025 Top Projects. These awards have a way of sneaking up on me, but consistently, they prove to be a reinvigorating part of the year. It is a joy to read through these nominations and see the hard work and collaboration happening across the country to address unique stormwater challenges.

Fellow Endeavor Business Media Water editors and I read through each nomination that came in, and from those, selected the five projects we deemed the most unique and innovative with strong collaboration.

This year’s projects span from green infrastructure to runoff control. But no matter their focus, the projects exemplify that a strong foundation of stormwater management leads to strong solutions. Read about this year’s winning projects on page 8.

Additionally, this issue features articles on two major projects — Walmart Home Office Campus and Buffalo Sewer Authority’s Rain Check Program. Both projects have an emphasis on sustainability, which is something we are seeing more and more as new projects are born. Stakeholders are looking for projects that are sustainable and will last longer.

Which leads me to my final talking point. As I am sure you all know, every year we conduct a State of the Industry Survey. The survey allows you the space to tell us what’s important to you — like sustainability in your projects, more funding, a stronger workforce, etc. It is a time when you can tell us what the triumphs and challenges of the industry are. It helps us shape our editorial coverage, so we can ensure we stay a relevant resourse for your use.

You can take the survey here https://bit.ly/SWS25SOTI. Your input is greatly appreciated and valued. As always, my inbox is open at kjohns@endeavorb2b.com.
