Thanksgiving: the time of year when we examine all we have to be grateful for as we look forward to a new year full of opportunities.
I’m thankful for having clean water available to me whenever I turn on a tap—something I can’t take for granted, knowing this is a privilege that many parts of the world don’t have.
I’m thankful for the storm water and erosion control professionals who work hard to keep water clean and can be underappreciated by the citizenry, which sometimes only notices when things go wrong—flooding, polluted beaches, traffic due to pipe rehabbing under roadways, etc.—and not when they are running smoothly (something I’m sure we’re all guilty of in some form).
I’m also thankful to have worked in an industry with such an exciting future for the past four years; it’s been an experience I won’t forget. This will be my last editorial blog as managing editor for SWS as I move on to a new opportunity.
I have truly enjoyed representing SWS, and your readership has meant a lot to me. It’s the people that make this industry great, and I thank you for all you’ve done to advance the ideas, technologies and innovations that will help ensure a future with clean, plentiful water.
