Public outreach programs allow water systems to keep in touch with and educate their customers, informing them about weather advisories, water and sewer bill due dates, ways to save water, construction projects, customer service, incentive program and, general news. Staying in touch with customers allows water systems to provide the best possible services—a crucial part of the customer-provider relationship—and promote the benefits of watershed protection, water conservation, green infrastructure and more, benefiting the customers, the utility and regional watersheds.
