Restoration of Our Rivers Conference Approaching

The nation's rivers and storm water systems are impacted by a variety of natural and manmade factors that can harm the health of these waterways. The restoration of our water systems is an imperative in which all federal, state, and local officials; property and business owners; and average citizens should have a practical and financial interest. 

With this in mind, the second-annual Restoration of Our Rivers Conference, hosted by the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, will provide regional and national perspectives on regulatory, planning and economic measures that improve water quality. The conference will be held at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark., on October 3 through 4, 2013. 

The intent of the conference is to educate attendees about practical and innovative ways to protect and improve the water quality and restoration of rivers throughout the U.S., and provide attendees with regulatory and best practices on urban storm water management by presenting and examining illustrative project case studies.

Prior to the conference, the IRWP will be partnering with the International Erosion Control Assn. and Enviro-Cert to provide four courses in Stormwater Certification on Sept. 30 through Oct.2. Online registration for the conference is open.
