IECA Great Connections Shares Conference Technical Program
IECA Great Connections announced the technical program for the Great Connections 2016 conference. The conference will be held at the La Cross Center in La Crosse, Wis., July 26 to 28. Registration is still open for the event and the three full-day and two half-day courses.
The course titles include:
• Certified Inspector for Sediment and Erosion Control,
• Adaptive Management for TMDL Implementation,
• Designing and Reviewing Effective Sediment and Erosion Control,
• Estimating the Value of Urban Natural Resources and Ecosystem Services, and
• Better Municipal Codes Means Better Green Infrastructure Projects.
Contractors, storm water professionals, designers and planners will gather for training and information to prepare for the spring construction season and certification review courses. The event also will explore storm water, erosion and sediment control, locally driven policy, and education initiatives. The speakers and content will range from the core focus of the IECA to trends in science and research on surface water quality, storm water management regulations and locally driven watershed improvement efforts.
William Stowe, CEO and general manager of Des Moines Water Works, joins the conference as keynote speaker. Stowe will speak to the central Iowa utility’s mission to provide safe, afforadable and abundant drinking water to 500,000 customers, as well as the challenges faced in an agricultural watershed.
