American Rainwater Catchment Systems Assn. (ARCSA) has joined with the Green Water-Infrastructure Academy (GWI) to execute a memorandum of understanding that will compound both organizations’ mission-fulfillment capabilities and yield significant benefits to the global community.

GWI President Tamim Younos, Ph.D., is an author, lecturer and research professor, whose expertise parallels ARCSA's mission in his study of water and energy nexus, decentralized water infrastructure, sustainable living and water supply alternatives.

As an outcome, GWI Academy and ARCSA will strive to develop and implement an integrated expert- and service-based framework of operation for information-sharing and research within target localities in the U.S. and other countries to promote the sustainable use of rainwater.

ARCSA's promotes sustainable rainwater harvesting practices to help solve potable, non-potable, storm water and energy challenges throughout the world. GWI Academy's aims to enhance human health and quality of life in global urban environments by promoting green water infrastructure research, education and outreach programs.

Both organizations are dedicated to global water resource sustainability through knowledge transfer and capacity building. These organizations recognize that rainwater and storm water are underutilized resources and that their harvest and appropriate uses can alleviate water challenges related to scarcity and poor quality of existing potable and non-potable water sources, storm water runoff management and energy consumption.
