ARCSA Partners with Association on Rainwater Harvesting Program
The American Rainwater Catchment Systems Assn. (ARCSA) announced a third national education training on rainwater harvesting program with the Plumbing and Gasfitters UA Local 5 Assn., formalized through the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by Timothy Haley, association training director, and David Crawford, ARCSA president.
These MOUs are intended to produce more qualified rainwater and storm water harvesting system installers to meet the rising demand for these systems, especially in parts of the country with drought and facing more cycles of drought, creating more jobs and boosting local economies.
The association and ARCSA share a general interest in environmental stewardship and education, and a specific interest in sustainable rainwater harvesting. The association rainwater-harvesting course and ARCSA's accreditation program share common goals, philosophies and methods.
The purpose of this MOU is to create a partnership between the association and ARCSA that builds upon each organization's expertise and strengths, combining the association's water-harvesting knowledge and educational expertise provided by its course with ARCSA's 20 years of experience, to deliver a simple, high-quality process, satisfying the ARCSA accreditation requirements for rainwater harvesting and bolstering the association's industry leadership.
ARCSA is currently producing the nation's first online rainwater harvesting accreditation course, patterned after its soon-to-be published comprehensive national rainwater harvesting manual, and is soliciting tax-deductible donations for that and general operational purposes.
