Darryl Cloud Elected President of NPCA Foundation
Darryl Cloud, national sales manager for Concrete Sealants Inc. based in Tipp City, Ohio, has been elected as the president of the National Precast Concrete Association Foundation. The NPCAF provides college scholarships for students in engineering, architecture and construction-related disciplines and develops workforce initiatives for the precast concrete industry.
Cloud, a former member of the NPCA Board of Directors, assumed the Foundation president’s duties during the NPCA 49th Annual Convention in Montreal. Cloud, a member of the Foundation Board since 2010, succeeds Barry Fleck of A.L. Patterson Inc. as president. Cloud said he plans to continue he momentum created by Fleck during the last two years.
NPCA leaders launched the Foundation in 1989 primarily to provide scholarships to college students in engineering, architecture and construction management. In recent years, the Foundation has sought to expand to provide opportunities for those entering skilled trades.
“We recognize that precast plants need engineers, but they also need welders and electricians and skilled production workers, so we’re going to explore new ways to reach out to high school students and others who may want to learn a trade to see if that’s a viable option,” he said.
In addition to his position at Concrete Sealants, Cloud serves as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University and the University of Phoenix, teaching marketing, organizational development and environmental management.
