Co-ops Applaud Congress for Hydropower Advances
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Assn. (NRECA) welcomed the U.S. Senate passing H.R. 267, the Hydropower Regulatory Efficiency Act, and H.R. 678, the Bureau of Reclamation Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act. The legislation now awaits the President’s signature.
“Co-ops applaud Congress for working together on this bipartisan legislation that will encourage the growth of clean, renewable, and reliable hydropower,” said Kirk Johnson, senior vice president of Government Relations at NRECA.
NRECA is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
