Big Lake Company Fined For Storm Water Violations
A Big Lake, Minn. development company has been penalized for alleged storm water violations at a central Minnesota construction site.
Dynamics Design and Land Company LLC has agreed to pay a $24,000 penalty for violations that occurred at Autumn Ridge, a residential development near Becker in Sherburne County.
During inspections in 2003 and 2004, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency staff discovered that the company failed to properly control erosion and sediment discharges. As a result, the agency says significant amounts of sediment flowed into a nearby wetland and the Elk River, Minn.
The MPCA says the company also failed to get a required stormwater permit before beginning the project. The Pollution Control Agency says Dynamic Design has since taken the proper steps to control erosion at the site.
