Porter, Ind. Approves $240,00+ Drainage Budget for 2006

Dec. 28, 2005

Porter, Ind., officials are hoping a new storm water management fee will provide enough money to cover some sorely-needed drainage projects laid out in the 2006 budget for the Storm Water Management Board approved by town council earlier this week.

According to a report in the Post-Tribune, the $242,100 budget for next year was approved unanimously.

Council members said the $4-a-month fee was enacted by ordinance earlier this year and will be added to the sewer utility fee charged for each piece of property in town, starting in January.

The biggest single line item is $85,000 for Storm Water and Drainage Ditch Projects, which board vice president hoped will take care of work on the county ditches in town.
