Filtration System Receives Conditional Short-Term Use Level Designation from WDOE

The Washington State Department of Ecology recently issued a Conditional (short-term) Use Level Designation (CUD) for basic treatment for the VortFilter system from Stormwater 360.

This CUD makes the VortFilter available for situations with low hydraulic drop conditions for storm water treatment.

The manufacturer is currently searching for candidate sites to monitor the VortFilter in accordance with Ecology’s Guidance for Evaluating Emerging Storm Water Treatment Technologies, Technology Assessment Protocol – Ecology (TAPE).

In January of this year, after extensive field monitoring using the TAPE, the StormFilter received the General Use Level Designation for Basic Treatment. The StormFilter is the first and only stand-alone proprietary technology that has received this designation by the Washington State Department of Ecology.
