Insitufrom Awarded Indiana Storm Water Bid

Aug. 11, 2005

Recently, Insituform was awarded a bid for the Anderson, Ind. Maryland Drive storm water project at the city’s Board of Public Works meeting.

According to a report in the Anderson (Ind.) Herald Bulletin, the company’s bid was $57,200, which was higher than American Water’s $54,922, but American Water’s bid was considered non-responsive.

Board member Robert Schuler explained that the city requires a bond of 10% to accompany the bid, and American Water enclosed a 5% bond. Schuler said it was unusual for the company, but the board had no choice in the matter."

Insituform’s approval will be contingent upon its affirmative action plan, which will be reviewed by the city’s human relations department.

City ordinance, Schuler explained, requires the company to certify its work force for bids in excess of $10,000.
