The John R. McAdams Co. Adds Environmental Expertise to its Stormwater Department

The John R. McAdams Co. Inc., a land development design firm, has added a new area of expertise to its Stormwater Department. The company has hired Kevin Yates, an expert in wetlands delineation and permitting and is now offering this as a service to its clients.

Yates will apply his extensive expertise in this area for mapping out the boundaries of a recognized wetland, using criteria based on government guidelines.

Prior to joining The John R. McAdams Co., Yates was regulatory project manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Wilmington and Raleigh, N.C. He was responsible for implementing the Department of the Army regulatory program, which protects and maintains the navigable capacity of the nation’s waters. He also worked with wetlands delineation issues and permit mitigation and design.

“The John R. McAdams Co. has a terrific reputation. I was impressed by their multi-disciplinary approach,” Yates said. “I am looking forward to using the skills I acquired while working for the government and applying them to the company’s broad range of clients and projects.”

Yates graduated form North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., with a Bachelors of Science in Natural Resources. He received his Masters in Marine Science from the University of North Carolina-- Wilmington in Wilmington, N.C.
