Xanser Corp.'s Furmanite, a worldwide technical and engineering services company, has announced the completion of a comprehensive concrete restoration and repair initiative at Jefferson Lakeside Country Club in Richmond, Va. Furmanite's custom engineered solutions were successful in all phases of repair to the course's dam that is more than 100 years old.

"Furmanite's capacity to evaluate dated systems and repair them to current specifications without incurring any system downtime minimizes risk and maximizes efficiency for our clients," said John R. Barnes, chairman, president and CEO of Xanser Corp.

The award-winning golf course is known for its structured dam with a 17-mile drainage area. The dam prevents major flooding, and ensures maximum uptime and profitability. Due to natural decomposition and damage caused by extreme weather, the structure has experienced occasional failure and underwent numerous unsuccessful repair attempts.

Furmanite's highly trained team of engineers and technicians developed solutions including: concrete restoration and specialty coatings, valve repair and motor-operated valve installation.

According to C. Jeffery Chick, president of Furmanite, "The superior work performed on the Jefferson Lakeside dam is a true testament to Furmanite's commitment of providing unique engineered solutions for a wide range of customer issues and challenges. The client's operations were restored to better-than-original condition and recently withstood one of the worst rain storms in Richmond's recent history."
