Pipes for Indiana Stormwater Sewer Project Installed

The Bonar Group recently announced that all of the pipes for the town of Richmond, Ind.'s $1.5 million stormwater sewer project have been installed, according to officials attending the town's recent council meeting.

Additionally, officials said extra money left over from the project would be used for alternate projects to upgrade storm piping at two intersections in town.New piping at Poplar and Elm streets and Walnut and Willow Grove streets will be installed at a cost of $25,000, Richmond city building commissioner Gene Kates.

"We still recognized that there is a problem of ponding water at those intersections," Kates said.

Kates said town officials also reviewed the completion of a Wayne County drainage project at the Dunbar Ditch, which runs along the town's northeast side. On June 14, the town appropriated $13,000 for the project. The Wayne County Soil and Water district is overseeing the project.

The ditch has a history of overflowing onto College Corner Road, Kates said.
