Company Announces Storm Water Solutions Expansion in North America

AbTech Holdings Inc. announced that the company and its distributor, Waste Management Inc., have begun the rollout of AbTech's full-service storm water solutions offerings in California, Canada and parts of the southeastern United States. The companies had previously announced the initial service offering in the Los Angeles area.

"We are eager to continue the expansion of our storm water offerings into new territories following strong initial feedback in our initial market," said AbTech founder and CEO Glenn R. Rink.

AbTech previously announced that Waste Management would serve as the exclusive distributor of its flagship SmartSponge product line to municipalities in North America. AbTech's proprietary technologies remove hydrocarbons, sediment and other contaminants from lakes, streams, storm water pipes, oceans and any other body of water. The company now also offers its antimicrobial technology, SmartSponge Plus. This technology reduces coliform bacteria found in storm water, industrial wastewater and municipal wastewater.

"Municipal customers are very enthusiastic about our total solutions offering," said Bjornulf White, executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development at AbTech. “[They] seek cost-effectiveness and compliance with water quality regulations, two things our team can deliver.”
