IECA Calls for Submissions for EC12
The International Erosion Control Assn. (IECA) is calling for submissions for Environmental Connection 2012 (EC12), the annual conference and expo of IECA. EC12 will be returning to Las Vegas Feb. 26 to 29.
Training is the cornerstone of Environmental Connection. Next year, IECA will focus on bringing more upper-level training to the erosion and sediment control and storm water management communities. IECA will still provide the fundamentals for professionals interested in expanding their business into the industry, but realizes that more advanced courses are necessary to keep attendees informed and compliant. Recommended “hot topics” for EC12 include: effluent limitation guidelines (ELGs) and potential impacts to new state permits; strategies for meeting ELGs on construction sites; active versus passive treatment for lowering turbidity; wetland, riparian and soil restoration; issues related to mining operations; and procedures and specification for BMP selection and installation. The deadline to submit an abstract is May 27.
