Vanessa Forbes Joins Parsons Brinkerhoff to Head Global Health and Safety Initiatives

Vanessa Forbes has been named Global Head of Health and Safety at Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB), a global infrastructure strategic consulting, engineering and program/construction management organization.

In her new position, Forbes will focus on ensuring that PB delivers world-class safety performance and will recommend the strategy for PB’s health and safety vision across its worldwide operations. She will be based in PB’s London office and will work closely with the firm’s global business leaders and the safety community to develop a positive safety culture across the company.

Forbes has been with Balfour Beatty, PB’s parent company, since 2008, when she joined as group health, safety and environmental manager. She has more than 12 years of experience in integrity performance and safety disciplines. She worked for six years as a structural integrity inspector for the offshore safety division of the UK safety regulator and as a technical consultant in the nuclear and oil and gas industries.

Forbes holds a Doctor of Philosophy in the reliability of offshore structures from the University of Surrey, a Master of Science degree in marine technology from Cranfield University and a Bachelor of engineering in combined engineering from Coventry University. She is a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
