A specialized water management, irrigation and environmental company, EPIC Green Solutions, launched in the Middle East this week.

EPIC Green Solutions offers systems and solutions for use in urban and agricultural irrigation, storm water management and bio filtration of water. The international company, which is based in the United Arab Emirates, uses patented technology originally from the United States and promises to "green the desert sustainably.”

According to EPIC Green Solutions, the company’s intensive water system known as the EPIC (which stands for Environmental Passive Integrated Chamber) system, uses simple technology, is low maintenance and is designed in an organic fashion to allow water savings of up to 80%.

"Our subsurface irrigation system is endorsed by leading landscape architects and environmental engineers and can be installed anywhere from private homes to hotels, government buildings, schools, hospitals, public parks, farms and more," said Managing Director Bart Rehbein. "Our systems aim to encourage people in the Middle East to reuse grey water, which is essentially water that's generated from domestic activities such as laundry, dishwashing and bathing, and which can be recycled on-site for uses such as landscape irrigation and constructed wetlands. Our system is particularly useful for hospitals, hotels and schools and will open people's eyes to the fact that every single drop of water should be properly utilized and not wasted."

The company recently acquired the rights to patented products and systems from international environmental services firm Rehbein Environmental Solutions Inc., which is based in the U.S.

"We look forward to helping green the Middle East and educate people in both the private and public sectors about the importance of saving water, and how our system can help them do that," said Rehbein.
