Dan Barbour Receives NPCA Award
Dan Barbour, vice president of Barbour Concrete Co., received the Robert E. Yoakum award for service to the National Precast Concrete Assn. (NPCA) and the precast concrete industry at the NPCA’s 45th Annual Convention last month. Barbour became the third member of his family to earn the award.
“The Barbour family has been synonymous with the NPCA since it was founded, and certainly has helped to shape it into what it is today,” said NPCA President Ty Gable. “Dan grew up with the precast industry and the association and has now become one of its leading advocates and voices. He definitely defines everything the Yoakum award stands for.”
Barbour’s contributions to the association have been many, including forming the NPCA Young Leaders Group to help the next generation of precasters, chairing the Governance Task Force that updated the association’s governance and helping to launch the first Precast Show.
“It’s an honor to receive the Yoakum Award,” Barbour said. “My family has a long history of involvement with NPCA and that’s just the way I was raised, to give back. Being an NPCA member has given my family countless opportunities and done great things for our business.”
