Registration is still open for Native Revegetation: The Sustainable Erosion Control BMP Challenging Conventional Seeding Practices. This workshop will take place Nov. 8 and 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach, Calif. The event also includes a field trip on Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a barbecue dinner reception on Monday evening on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore.

The workshop’s target audience includes project engineers, designers, academics, consultants and contractors with federal and state agency crossover. Panelists include top-ranked scientists such as Mir Seyedbagheri, Ph.D.; Mark Paschke, Ph.D.; and Wally Miller, Ph.D., plus many others, who will present promising technologies and participate in roundtable discussions and debates about how to achieve greater consistency of success on native revegetation projects. Workshop focuses include “minimum threshold” levels of restoration, the vulnerability of seeding practices to implementation shortcomings, weaknesses in current technologies and lessons learned from 30 years of restoration in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

The Western Chapter of the International Erosion Control Assn. is offering subsidized rates to all potential attendees to encourage as many contributing parties as possible to attend. There are no fees for late registration.
