Web-Based Storm Water Design Tool Available From ADS
A new online program for designing storm water retention/detention systems is available from Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. (ADS). Accessed on the company's website, www.ads-pipe.com, the ADS Design Pro enables engineers to determine the proper components and lay out the design. Password protected, it contains technical resources for creating a corrugated high-density polyethylene pipe project that can be shared with others and also saved for future reference. The resulting plan is delivered in either PDF or a DXF format.
"We developed Design Pro as a part of our continuing effort to support the engineering community," said Ron Vitarelli, vice president of storm and sanitary sewer market development with ADS. "It intuitively and graphically allows an engineer to design an ADS retention/detention system and will generate the drawings, specifications and installation requirements.
"Additionally it allows for a team of engineers to participate in the project. All information is stored in the on-line database so the plan can be revised as needed. Design Pro can also provide a great labor savings because a saved project can be expediently modified for a future, similar project."
A simple and quick registration process gains access to the site and the user selects a secure password. The program is found at the ADS home page and then by clicking on the ADS Design Pro icon on the right side of the page.
