NRMCA to Offer Courses Online
The National Ready Mixed Concrete Assn. (NRMCA) will launch the online version of three of its most popular courses for architects and engineers beginning in March.
Pervious Concrete-A Stormwater Solution: This online course provides detailed instruction on how to implement pervious concrete pavements as a solution to reducing storm water runoff from building sites and other paved areas. Participants will learn the details of pervious concrete pavement systems, engineering properties and construction techniques. This course is delivered entirely online through four live webinars on March 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EST, plus online exercises and quizzes. This course offers six professional development hours, six AIA-CES HSW Learning Units and six Green Building Certification Institute Continuing Education hours.
Design of Concrete Pavements: This online course provides participants with techniques and methodologies for designing, specifying and building concrete streets and parking lots. Participants will be able to provide their clients with solutions for street and parking lots, including conventional concrete, pervious concrete, concrete overlays and roller compacted concrete. This course is also delivered entirely online through four live webinars on April 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EST, plus online exercises and quizzes. This course offers six professional development hours and six AIA-CES HSW Learning Units.
Building Green With Concrete: This online course provides strategies, technologies and methodologies for designing sustainable concrete projects to maximize environmental performance. Participants will be able to understand the basics of low impact development, specify high performance concrete building systems, implement pervious concrete pavement systems and develop project specifications to optimize recycled content and maximize durability. This course is delivered through four live webinars on May 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. EST, plus online exercises and quizzes. This course offers eight professional development hours, eight AIA-CES HSW Learning Units and eight Green Building Certification Institute Continuing Education hours.
