CWEA 37th Annual P3S Training Conference & Exhibition to Take Place March 1 to 3
The California Water Environment Assn. (CWEA) will hold its 37th Annual Pretreatment, Pollution Prevention and Storm Water (P3S) Training Conference: Navigating Through the Storm, Setting a Course to Clean Water, March 1 to 3, 2010, at the Hilton Long Beach in Long Beach, Calif. This forum will provide attendees with the opportunity to capture knowledge to advance the treatment and reuse of water.
This year’s opening session will feature wastewater and storm water regulators at the national, state and local levels. Peter Silva of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been invited to provide the keynote address on U.S. EPA policies, programs and initiatives that affect water. Additionally, a board member for the State Water Resources Control Board and the executive officer of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board will discuss the latest regulatory updates and will be taking questions. The session will conclude with a Natural Resources Defense Council update on efforts related to sustainability.
New this year, the conference has added a leadership track to assist those in attendance in growing professionally and managing people, and there will be a pre-conference networking event--a tour of LA LIVE--designed to give younger members in the field an opportunity to connect with veterans.
Technical sessions will cover:

• Storm water;
• Fats, oil and grease;
• Emerging issues;
• Leadership development;
• Public education and outreach;
• Local limits;
• Pollution prevention; and
• Water resources and water reuse.
All-day workshops include Environmental Compliance Inspector Training; EPA Basic Pretreatment Training; Fats, Oil and Grease Control Program Training; and Storm Water Treatment 101 Training.
