Virginia Business District Chooses GeoResults Software

Field data collection to streamline storm water operations

Marshall and Associates Inc., under a subcontract to Michael Baker Corp., will provide GeoResults software and associated hardware for field data collection of signs and storm water work order and service request automation to the city of Norfolk, Va., Public Works Storm Water and Transportation divisions.

The city completes many thousands of work orders and services requests inspections each year. By using GeoResults products to automate these business processes, the city’s field operations data work flows will be more efficient, and the information stored in its business systems will be more accurate and up-to-date, supporting improved operations, customer service and information for management decision making.

The city of Norfolk, located in the southeastern corner of Virginia, has a total area of 96.3 sq miles and a population of 238,832 residents. Norfolk is recognized as the state’s central business district, hosts the region's international airport and is home to one of the busiest international ports on the East Coast.
