The challenges faced by China’s water industry are one step closer to being solved following Water Expo China, held Nov. 10 to 13 at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing, China. Water industry specialists from China and around the world gathered at the fair to view the latest technologies and share knowledge at the concurrent Third Water Summit Conference and Sino-European Dialogue.
The fair was sponsored by China’s Ministry of Water Resources, approved by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) and the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society.
Water China Expo attracted 200 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions. Altogether, there was a record number of 8,147 visitors from 26 countries and regions, an impressive increase of 50 percent more than last year. Of these, 7,935 were domestic visitors and 212 international visitors from 25 countries and regions.
“I’m strongly impressed by the symposium and other fringe programs,” said Dong Ruiping, external affairs director for ITT China. “It’s a good channel to know the latest policies and to communicate with each other.”
“We discuss the challenges we face nowadays, learn the latest technologies, and present company images," said Cheng Jing, director of Beijing Municipal Water Authority. "Thus, we can keep development and serve public with higher quality life."
Next year’s Water Expo China will be held from Oct. 8 to 10, 2009, in a new venue at Beijing Exhibition Center and will coincide with the Chinese Government’s celebrations to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China and the Ministry of Water Resources Great Achievements program.
