The El Paso Water Utilities 2007-2008 operating budget has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association. This is the tenth consecutive year the utility has received the award.

The association rated the budget as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. It was rated “proficient” in each category.

The association also recognized the utility’s chief financial officer, Marcela Navarrete, for her efforts in preparing the budget. Navarrete received the association’s Certificate of Recognition for Budget Preparation.
