David T. Williams, Ph.D., P.E., PH, DWRE, CFM, national technical director of water resources for PBS&J, has been elected chair of the River Restoration Committee of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI), which is part of the American Society of Civil Engineering. The River Restoration Committee is a standing EWRI committee that meets annually—typically at the Annual World Water & Environmental Congress—for engineers and scientists engaged in the practice of river restoration/rehabilitation to network, collaborate and advance the science and practice of river restoration through collegial relationships, conference presentations and writing papers.
In addition to his involvement with the American Institute of Hydrology, where he is the chair of the Board of Registration, Williams has served as chair of the Federal Interagency Technical Committee on Sedimentation, two-time president and nine-year board member for the International Erosion Control Association and chair of numerous professional society committees.
