MACTEC Appoints New Office Manager

Michael D. Sufnarski, P.E., to assume managerial role at Charlotte, N.C., office

Michael D. Sufnarski, P.E., has been appointed Charlotte, N.C., office manager for MACTEC Engineering & Consulting., according to a recent announcement made by Ann E. Massey, president and chief executive officer for the holding company, MACTEC Inc.

Sufnarski joined MACTEC in 2003, and before being named office manager, he served as Charlotte operations manager and business unit leader of the Engineered Construction Group, which generated $7.2 million in gross revenue last year.

“Mike is an effective leader and manager with a proven ability to deliver results,” said Don Chandler, MACTEC’s Carolinas area manager. “He’ll play a pivotal role in growing our Charlotte office.”

Sufnarski has more than 17 years of engineering and project management experience in both the public and private sector, including serving as project manager for over $10 million of nuclear safety-related environmental and geotechnical projects in Texas, Missouri and South Carolina. Prior to joining MACTEC, he served for more than a decade as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Sufnarski, a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and Delaware, received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from The United States Military Academy at West Point, and a master's in environmental and water resources engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
