LBG Appoints Head of New Georgia Office

Nils Thompson, P.G., CPG, has been named an associate and manager of the new Kennesaw, Ga., office of Leggette, Brashears & Graham Inc. (LBG), a professional groundwater and environmental engineering services firm with nationwide offices.

A professional geologist registered in 13 states, Thompson has more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience. He has served in roles as project manager and senior hydrogeologist on projects involving hydrogeologic and hazardous waste assessments, remediation and regulatory compliance. He has worked with various industry, power and mining companies on groundwater supply and permitting issues. In addition, Thompson has assisted industrial clients with environmental compliance and corrective action issues and managed numerous environmental site assessments throughout the Southeast.

Thompson holds a master's degree in geology from Fort Hays State University and a bachelor's degree in geoscience from Pennsylvania State University. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Professional Geologists, the Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers and the Georgia Construction Aggregate Association. Thompson currently serves as president of the Atlanta Geological Society.
