South Carolina County to Promote Storm Water Awareness

County council, local mayors sign joint resolution for public education about runoff pollution

Officials in Lexington County, S.C., have signed an agreement to minimize storm water runoff-driven pollution via public education efforts. The joint resolution is the product of recently tightened federal environmental regulations.

The parties signing the agreement were: the Lexington County Council and the mayors of Lexington, Cayce, West Columbia, Irmo, Springdale, Pine Ridge and South Congaree. Project leaders have not yet established the programs aimed at promoting public involvement.
