Illinois to Host Annual Drainage Conference

Industry professionals to gather in Champaign-Urbana Jan. 17 and 18 for regulatory updates, technical advice and more

The Illinois Association of Drainage Districts is set to host its 2008 conference, "Digging Into Drainage," Jan. 17 and 18 at the Holiday Inn in Champaign-Urbana, Ill.

WDWS-NewsTalk 1400 personality Jim Turpin will act as the annual conference's keynote speaker. Day-one speakers will address information on "building bridges," and day-two speakers will speak toward legal and technical aspects of maintaining drainage distrcits. Sessions highlights include a storm water assessments discussion and input from the U.S. Corps of Engineers Regulatory Authority.

"Digging Into Drainage" is the only statewide event focused on providing drainage commissioners and professionals with continuing education. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, and the conference's final session concludes at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18. For more information, visit www.iadd.info.
