May 29, 2007
Kwabena Osei will speak about the physical and chemical characterization of sediments captured by flow-through storm water interceptors

Kwabena Osei, Research & Development manager of Hydro International, will present an industry paper at the sixth annual StormCon, the world’s largest storm water pollution prevention conference. StormCon will be held Aug. 20 to 23, 2007, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge hotel in Phoenix.

Osei will speak about the physical and chemical characterization of sediments captured by flow-through storm water interceptors. His presentation will incorporate research by co-authors Dr Michael G. Faram, group technical manager based at Hydro International’s U.K. business and Professor Kenneth O. Iwugu of the University of Bristol in the U.K.

Featuring nearly 200 presenters from 30 states and five countries, StormCon is the largest industry event in the world for professionals responsible for meeting the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit program requirements. These requirements seek to prevent natural water resource pollution before it happens.

Thousands of municipal and industry leaders, federal agency representatives, engineers, consultants, contractors and vendors are expected to attend to learn techniques, management strategies and new technologies to improve community, construction-site and industrial storm water pollution prevention efforts. More than 150 vendors will exhibit storm water-related equipment, products and services.

Hydro International will exhibit during the show and sponsor the Opening General Session continental breakfast. Hydro is one of seven companies sponsoring a special event and one of 27 sponsors at the show.
