Caltrans Awards URS Corp. Storm Water Contract
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) awarded URS Corp. a three-year contract Wednesday, choosing URS to assist the state agency in meeting storm water runoff standards. California's State Water Resources and Control Board permit and the Federal Clean Water Act are of Caltrans' greatest concern.
URS can earn up to $28.5 million in this deal by developing monitoring plans, conducting field samples and analyzing storm water runoff for Caltrans-operated roadways on an "as needed" basis. In addition to performing these tasks within Orange, San Diego and Imperial Counties, URS will also join Caltrans in developing and testing innovative storm water runoff technologies.
"We are pleased to have been selected by Caltrans for this important program, which extends our strong relationship and experience with Caltrans on programs that address complex storm water issues" says URS Division President Gary V. Jandegian. "We look forward to supporting Caltrans as it works to improve the quality of storm water runoff throughout the state."
