The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is currently accepting proposals for technical programming at Environmental Connection ‘08, IECA’s annual conference and expo to be held Feb. 18 to 21, 2008 in Orlando, Fla.
All professionals in the erosion and sediment control industry are encouraged to participate in the education process. Abstracts for presentations relating to the following categories are being solicited: slope technology; stream restoration; vegetative establishment; storm water management; wetlands; erosion and sediment control; and beach and shoreline stabilization.
Presentation formats include technical papers, workshops, forums, new product symposiums, poster presentations and case studies. All case study submissions will be considered for selection into the Awards of Environmental Excellence program.
Presentation proposals will be reviewed by the IECA Technology Section Committee for possible inclusion in the EC08 technical program. Acceptance is based on presentation of thorough data and clear results, relevancy to the erosion control industry, innovation and clarity. If an abstract is accepted, the author will then be asked to provide the committee with the complete paper or presentation for part two of the review process.
Complete submission guidelines and example abstracts are available online at www.ieca.org. All abstracts must be submitted through the IECA website by April 30, 2007. Notification of abstract approval will be sent June 4, 2007. If selected, the final presentation will be due to IECA by Oct. 1, 2007.
