15-Year-Old Entrepreneur Harvests Rainwater for Energy

The young entrepreneur is the CEO of her own rainwater harvesting company

Fifteen-year-old entrepreneur Reyhan Camalova presented her start-up company, Rainergy, at the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit. Camalova’s company seeks to convert rainwater into electricity at an energy-efficient rate. The simple design is comprised of a rain collector, water tank, electricity generator and battery. Additionally, the young entrepreneur argues that Rainergy would reduce CO2 emissions to 10g per KW/hour during electricity production.

When describing the efficiency of her product, Camalova said, “The initial prototype of Rainergy produces 22W of power and lightens up to 22 LED lamps. While piezoelectric rain generators produce only 25 microwatt of power, our model is much more efficient in comparison with similar systems.”

Camalova’s company is gaining attention both for the effective product and the entrepreneur’s remarkably young age. Daughter to U.S. President Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, led the summit’s keynote address and highlighted Camalova’s contributions. “Reyhan is 15-year-old, but that had not stopped her from founding a company that harvests energy from rainwater. She has a powerful motto — light up one house at a time,” Ivanka Trump said in her address.
