IECA Announces 2016‐2019 Term Board of Directors

The International Erosion Control Assn. (IECA) Region One membership voted to newly elect Adam Dibble, CPESC and Gustavo O. Salerno, CPESC, P.E., and to reelect Craig S. Benson, M.S. to the 2016 to 2019 board of directors.

Dibble, senior marketing manager/erosion control brand manager with Profile Products, has been with the company for nearly six years and holds bachelor’s degrees in business and marketing from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. In December 2014, Dibble received the CESSWI designation and in July 2015 was recognized by SWS as one of its "rising stars." 

Dibble works across all of Profile Products business units as the senior marketing manager. His primary responsibility is with the erosion and vegetative solutions business, emphasizing the creation and implementation of value‐added education and marketing programs. In addition to marketing initiatives, he is the brand manager and responsible for the overall direction and support of the company’s erosion control business. His fiduciary responsibilities include vendor and agency partner management, along with all facets of product lifecycle, pricing and new product development.

“Just being nominated was truly an accomplishment and now being elected and having the ability to be a contributor on the board of directors really motivates me,” Dibble said. “I think the IECA is the pinnacle of professionalism in our industry and having the ability to help promote, guide and implement programs and policies that will benefit the entire membership is an amazing chance. I know that I will bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the organization and I look forward to helping create more awareness and increasing our membership over my term."

Salerno is the president of his firm INMAC S.A., and is responsible for building a multi‐regional company with important projects in Argentina, Perú and Bolivia since 1995. Salerno has held management positions of increased responsibility within the fields of hydraulic construction and environmental recovery. He served as president of the IberoAmerican Chapter and also as director for the Board of the International Erosion Control Assn. from 2012 to 2015, where he had opportunities to share his extensive work history with colleagues from different countries. He has been an active IECA member since 1997.

Benson is a long‐time member of the IECA, a two‐term past president of the Western Chapter, and is currently serving on the Region One IECA board of directors. Benson has 25 years of professional, scientific and construction experience in a variety of watershed rehabilitation, non‐point source pollution plan implementation, ecological restoration, agro‐ecological planning, forest improvement, erosion control and stormwater management projects in the U.S, West Africa and South America. He has worked in the government, private consulting and non‐profit sectors and has assisted international, federal and state agencies, as well as municipalities, tribal entities and private clients through all phases of project funding acquisition, planning, implementation, public outreach and monitoring. Over the last 15 years, Benson has focused increasingly on multi‐hazard mitigation planning, including flood, severe storm, fire, earthquake, tsunami, and climate change risk assessment. Benson is currently the watershed coordinator for Humboldt Bay and is participating in comprehensive Sea Level Rise adaption assessment and planning activities.

The IECA Region One board of directors is made up of nine members, each serving a three‐year term. Board officer positions will be decided at the board meeting to be held at Environmental Connection 2016, IECA’s annual conference and expo, Feb. 16 to 19, 2016 in San Antonio.

IECA would like to thank Charles R. Riling Jr., TRETCNO, ABI, CESSWI for serving on the board of directors from 2010 to 2015. Riling has worked on numerous board projects and has been a member since 1997. He is the West Virginia State Representative for the Mid‐Atlantic Chapter.
