This year RJN Group Inc.’s (RJN) charitable foundation, the RJN Foundation, awarded five scholarships to civil and environmental engineering students and two scholarships to students majoring in related fields.
Every year the foundation awards a scholarship to each of the following institutions:
- Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago
- University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana, Ill.
- University of Texas at Arlington, Texas
- Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Illi.
- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Illi.
Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., awards the RJN Foundation Scholarship to a student enrolled in their GIS Certificate Program or Geography, and Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., awards the RJN Foundation Scholarship to a student enrolled in an engineering related field.
The foundation’s goal is to establish scholarships near many of RJN’s office locations. Each student awarded is selected by the institution of higher learning.
In addition to civil engineering, environmental engineering and GIS, recipients have majored or minored in construction management, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, urban planning and biomedical engineering.
Beginning with the 2015/16 Academic Year, the RJN Foundation will begin a partnership with the University of Delaware with the establishment of an annual scholarship to a student majoring in civil or environmental engineering.
