For the second year, Brookfield, Conn.-based Cultec Inc., manufacturer of storm water management chambers, will sponsor the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Hartford Holiday Light Fantasia in Hartford, Conn.
The Hartford St. Jude Give thanks. Walk is one of 90 events taking place in communities across the country on Nov. 17 to help kids battling cancer and other deadly diseases. The noncompetitive 5K is an annual fundraiser that serves as the official kick-off event for the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign.
“For every child treated at St. Jude, thousands more have been saved worldwide through the Hospital’s research discoveries,” said Jill Workman, New England regional director at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Although St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has helped push overall U.S. survival rates from 20 to 80%, pediatric cancer remains the leading cause of death due to disease among U.S. children older than one. Donor dollars will help ensure that the hospital’s pioneering research and lifesaving treatments continue to save countless lives in Hartford and beyond.
