Mueller Co. Expands Research & Development Capabilities

Mueller Co. establishes technology center to focus on next-generation water infrastructure products
Sept. 12, 2012

Mueller Co. has expanded its research & development (R&D) capabilities with the creation of the Mueller Co. Technology Center (MTC). The MTC centralizes the company’s R&D efforts for its core products and is dedicated to developing next-generation technologies for water infrastructure.

According to Dave Woollums, vice president of research, development and engineering for Mueller Co., the MTC provides the environment necessary for Mueller Co.’s R&D staff to focus exclusively on developing new solutions that improve efficiency, distribution and monitoring capabilities for water utilities.

The MTC is based in Chattanooga, Tenn., along with Mueller Co.’s headquarters, and it is centrally located near three of the company’s five primary manufacturing facilities. The location was strategically chosen to help facilitate dialogue between MTC’s engineers and Mueller Co.’s other key facilities, which focus on day-to-day operations.
