This hydrodynamic separator promotes settlement and capture of sediment
The StromTrap StormSettler was featured in the company's booth at the 2025 Ohio Stormwater Conference in Sandusky, Ohio.
The product is a hydrodynamic separator that promotes settlement and capture of sediment in runoff. It has passed the 2021 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) "Laboratory Protocol to Assess Total Suspended Solids Removal by a Hydrodynamic Sedimentation Manufactured Treatment Device."
The product is designed using computational fluid dynamics and laboratory testing and utilizes flow modifiers and tube settlers for treatment. They come in precast forms manufactured in the U.S. and are available in standard manhole sizes. They feature negligible headloss (less than 6" at the treatment flow rate) and a high pipe entry and exit enable the system to be used in high groundwater areas.
The product can be maintained at-grade without removing the settling pack and can accomodate online and offline configurations. The systems can be tailored to meet site-specific requirements and are available with operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals to provide maintenance guidelines and procedures.
