These pavers heat from the inside and promote infiltration
PaveDrain featured its heated paver system in its booth at the 2025 Ohio Stormwater Conference in Sandusky, Ohio.
The pavers feature a patented design which combines the company's paver blocks, PEX Tubing, propylene glycol/water mix and a heat source that allows heating to occur near the surface. The heat source runs through the blocks close to the surface for quick and sustainable heating and melting.
The system can be installed in driveways, sidewalks, entry ways, parking lots, intersections and gutter-pans. The paver system is also permeable, infiltrating at over 1,000 inches per hour (ASTM C1701). The infiltration keeps the snow melt from running off and freezing elsewhere.
The pavers can also cut down the use of salt, which can contaminate drinking water sources, kill or endanger wildlife, increase soil erosion and damage private and public property. The pavers can also reduce the risk of slipping on ice.
