Rainplan has achieved certification with the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO), enabling the integration of stormwater utility and property improvement data into standardized real estate systems.

By aligning with the RESO Common Format, Rainplan is helping connect infrastructure and stormwater incentive information to the same data framework used for property listings, transactions and valuations. The effort is designed to improve coordination among utilities, municipalities, contractors and property owners, allowing for easier access to incentive programs and improvement opportunities related to stormwater management.

The integration supports local agencies working to reduce urban flooding, stormwater runoff and water pollution by improving collaboration between the private and public sectors.

RESO CEO Sam DeBord said the certification reflects how infrastructure and utility information are becoming part of the broader real estate data ecosystem. “Incorporating utility incentives and property improvement data into the broader real estate ecosystem with an open, standard format is a benefit to the entire industry,” he said.

The RESO certification represents a step toward greater data interoperability between real estate and stormwater management systems, helping communities plan and implement resilience upgrades more effectively.
