Vermont Clean Water Board seeks public input on 2027 clean water budget
The Vermont Clean Water Board is inviting public feedback on its proposed State Fiscal Year 2027 Clean Water Budget, which allocates roughly $45 million for projects that protect and restore the state’s waterways. Public comments are open through November 16, 2025.
The budget supports initiatives that reduce pollution, improve stormwater management, and strengthen resilience against extreme weather. Past investments have funded agricultural best practices, wastewater system upgrades, and municipal stormwater infrastructure.
“Clean water is both essential and fragile,” said Julie Moore, secretary of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources and Clean Water Board member, in a press release. “We want people to tell the Clean Water Board what matters to them, so we can ensure alignment of these investments.”
Residents can submit input by attending a public hearing on November 7 in Montpelier or via Microsoft Teams, emailing [email protected], or completing the online budget questionnaire. The Board will review comments before finalizing the budget in December 2025.
